Michelle has worked at the Senior Center since 1997. She works with a wide variety of community organizations, volunteers and the Program Committee to create fun and innovative programs. She is always open to new ideas and to your feedback. If you are interested in sharing your thoughts or offering a program, be sure to visit her on the Mezzanine. Michelle enjoys spending time with family, learning new things, exercising and volunteering.
Emily has worked at The Center since 2007. She coordinates volunteer programs, technology classes, individual services, outreach and marketing for the Senior Center. Visit Emily if you’d like to explore The Center’s many volunteer opportunities. Emily likes cooking, road trips, movies, long walks and hanging out with her friends, family and pets.
Kristin has a hand in just about everything at The Center. First and foremost, she coordinates the membership and parking programs and tracks donations. She also serves as the staff contact for the Membership Committee. Kristin enjoys making crafts and spending time with her dog, Sophie.
Sharon, who is also known as the Dragon Lady due to her love of the mythical creatures, is one of the receptionists who can help you join The Center, register for classes or get your parking pass. She is a good information resource. Her spare time is arranged by her two little dogs, Meri and Pippin.
Lori is an Iowa City native. She enjoys cooking, reading, artistic ventures, and playing guitar and singing. Some of her favorite activities are attending concerts, visiting historical sites, and enjoying the outdoor beauty of our fair state. Lori can help you at the front desk on weekday afternoons to renew your membership, register for classes, understand parking options, and learn about the offerings at The Center.
Craig keeps the facility clean and in good working order and coordinates major and minor facility improvements. His philosophy is to respect the historic nature of the facility while recognizing the need for updates and future planning. He enjoys springtime rains, listening to his garden blossom and traveling an open road.
Brad works with SCTV volunteers to produce videos that share positive images of aging with the community. He also leads weekly tech help sessions at The Center. Brad graduated from the University of Iowa with a Communication Studies degree. He lived in Boston and San Francisco, working in video post-production and web development, before returning to his Iowa roots in 2003.
